This 2.5 hour mini-retreat and workshop is for you.
We’ll explore the beautiful, nourishing and accessible ancient Mala Meditation practice and how to use it to be more mindful of the important stuff. We’ll also learn how to use the mala meditation to invite more of what we want into our lives. Lastly, we’ll figure out how to make this a practice that works within the daily “busy-ness”. Each of you will make very own gorgeous mala to take home.
What’s a mala?
Traditionally a mala is a sacred knotted string of 108 beads, a 'guru’ bead and a tassel. The beads are used for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra. Although they have spiritual origins, we’ll use them to support our secular wellness-based meditation practice. The mantra we choose and use with them will align us with key qualities that will help transform us and help us remove obstacles on our paths. By wearing a mala, it gently and beautifully reminds us to be more mindful, to be more ourselves, and to be more grounded and present as we move around in the world each day. I love wearing mine.
Details of the Mala Making Mini-Retreat + Workshop
What: A 2.5 hour time-out to be a part of a group of like-minded women learning and practicing meditation, mindfulness and of course, making personal mala bracelets.
Where: The Farmette, Lyons CO (4121 Ute Hwy, Lyons, CO 80540)
When: Thursday, July 18th, 6:00pm-8:30pm
Who: This particular workshop is for women only. To keep it intimate and not overwhelming, we are limiting it to 15 participants.
What to wear/bring: Comfy casual clothes, socks if your feet get cold without shoes, water and yoga mat (if you have one).
Cost: __ includes the workshop and the beautiful mala bracelet you make.

Let's face it, taking time for oneself is just not something most of us are good at. Whether it's to take a break and go for a walk, sit with a cup of tea and listen to your favorite playlist, or meet up with a friend for a laugh, it often gets put off or just not planned in the first place. What we are good at is doing things for others, attacking our to-do lists, and keeping our homes and busy lives going as smoothly as possible or at least just going.

Join us Sunday, January 13th from 9:30am-noon for just this, a dose of self-care, learning and mala making to help rejuvenate your mind and body. The mala meditation practice will also help after the mini-retreat and workshop as you transition back to your 'real world' :-)
What to Expect at the Magic of Mala Making Mini-Retreat + Workshop
After introductions and settling in, we'll start the evening with a brief history of meditation and malas. We’ll explore the beautiful and accessible ancient Mala Meditation practice and how to use it to be more mindful of the important stuff currently in our lives.
We’ll talk about how to create and choose your mantra. We’ll also learn how the mala meditation invites more of what we want in our lives.
Next, we'll move on to making your mala. I've chosen beautiful *beads and embroidery thread to make these bracelets and I think you’ll love yours! *The mala beads are 6mm Amazonite beads, the guru bead is a 10mm Amazonite bead and the tassel is embroidery thread. The bracelet is strung together using a stretchy thread.
Lastly, we’ll finish by choosing a special mantra and practicing it 108 times.
